The Mad Dalton At Millbank Studios
In December 2014, The Mad Dalton ensconced himself firmly into the pastoral farmland of Balinderry, Northern Ireland, specifically in the magical environs of Millbank Studios w/ producer/engineer Michael Mormecha at the controls & behind the drum kit & recorded 11 tracks they hope to form the basis of his debut album.
The sessions lasted 10 days, & w/ the exception of one very unique cover song, all songs are originals that are already bursting to be unveiled.
The recording features Peter GW Sumadh – vocals, guitars, George McKinney – lead guitars, Ciaran “Scruffy” Gallagher – accordion, mandolin, Stuart Fletcher bass, Michael Walters trombone, Michael Mormecha – drums.
The recordings feature a mix of instruments including a ’65 Rickenbacker, a late 70’s Epiphone Casino, Laney & Vox amps, a reclaimed pawnshop acoustic, a resonator guitar, a trombone, a 50’s show band drum kit, a mandolin setup by legendary Canadian luthier Linda Manzer & a vintage Fender bass not to mention a good ol’ Hohner accordion to help round out the Mad Daltons sound.
The recordings, production & post-production have all been entirely self-funded.
A great way to end a year & to begin 2015 w/ the tracks under the band’s belt feels incredibly exciting.
The tracks are being mixed in February/March 2015 w/ release dates currently being considered for both summer & autumn.
